According to police, the three Bucharest citizens, aged 21 to 29, each bought Saturday 9 mm caliber pistols with 160 rounds, from Bulgarian town Ruse.
Upon returning from Bulgaria, the men wanted to see if the weapons are functional and stopped to test them, on the side of national road DN5, between localities Daia and Remus. After firing 23 rounds, the men were discovered by police officers within the arms division of the police. The officers left them without the weapons and ammunition, because they lacked permits.
Moreover, the three suspects are under investigation for violations of the weapons statute and smuggling.
