Romania’s alliance between social democrats and conservatives obtained 33.99% of voters’ preferences for the Senate, followed by the Democratic Liberal Party with 33.79% and liberals with 18.49%, following the counting of votes in 92.73% of polling stations countrywide by GMT 1200.

Central Election Office spokesman Marian Muhulet said votes in 92.73% of all polling stations have been centralized by GMT 1200.
 
The Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania obtained 6.54% of the votes.
 
He added the other political parties obtained less than the 5% threshold needed to gain seats in Parliament.
