Romanian Democrat Liberals Get Most Of The Votes Expressed Abroad

The Romanian democrat liberals obtained 46.88% of votes expressed by Romanians abroad, for Senate, followed by the liberals, with 23.35% and the social democrats, with 13.19%, while for the Chamber the democrat liberals obtained 46.6%, PNL – 20.45% and PSD+PC – 14.82%, after counting 93.21% of votes

According to the Electoral Office for Romanians Abroad, the results are valid after the centralization of voting processes at 206 of the 221 polling stations, opened abroad, which represents 93.21% of voting ballots.

Fourth pleace in the race for Senate went to the Greater Romania Party, with 6.48%, followed by the Democratic Union of Magyars in Romania, with 5.66%, the New Generation Party with 3.23% and the Green Party with 1.18%.
 
For the Chamber, fourth place went to the Magyar party with 4.64% of votes, followed by the Greater Romania Party with 4.44% and the New Generation Party with 3.08%.
 
Independent candidate Constantin Timoc Ciuciu obtained 1.57%. The other candidates for the Chamber obtained less than 1%.
 
24,000 Romanians voted abroad in the uninominal elections, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
The Ministry organized 221 polling stations (compared to 181 in the European Parliament elections and at the referendum in May 2007) and delegated 56 people from the Central.
 
The future Parliament will contain four deputies and two senators representing the Romanians abroad.
