Romanian MPs Validate Gabriel Sandu For Communication Min

Romanian parliamentary committees validated Gabriel Sandu for the headship of the Ministry of Communication and Information Society, with 17 votes in favor, two against and one abstention.

During the parliamentary hearings, Sandu said one of his major objectives is to identify and solve the problems of the state-owned postal services company Posta Romana and the National Company for Radio Communications.

“There is a restructuring plan for Posta Romana, which I haven’t seen but I want to analyze, especially as it involves 35,000 employees. I have too clear directions, a social one and one rendering the activity efficient,” Sandu said.

He added he will propose that the ministry’s structure be amended and a state secretary position in charge of the postal services company be set up.
