According to Berceanu, over 93% of the company’s revenues collected from infrastructure tolls are used on employees’ salaries, which, obviously justifies the lack of repair and upgrade works in the railway sector.

Berceanu said things are really bad in the railway sector, on lack of money, adding SNCFR’s structures, namely the passenger railway company CFR Calatori, the freight railway company CFR Marfa and the infrastructure company CFR Infrastructura, would soon be subject to an in-depth analysis, given the pile of organizational problems.

The minister highlighted that the large number of employees, which translates into a real financial burden, is among the main factors affecting the good functioning of the railway company.
