Gross Avg Monthly Wage At Romania’s Devt Ministry Worth RON4,746, Not 8,818 – Ministry

Romania’s Regional Development Ministry said the monthly average wage in the institution last year reached 4,746 lei (EUR1=RON4.2314), including the base and the merit salary, the seniority bonus and the management bonus, and not of RON8,180, as shown by a government document Wednesday.

The ministry said the monthly gross average salary in 2008, including vacation and other bonuses, amounted to RON6,805.

“We mention the fact that in 2008, we paid the holiday bonuses owed for the period 2001-2006 both to the ministry’s staff and to people who are now working in other institutions, but who worked for the Ministry for Development and Forecast, Ministry for European Integration in the same period, and whose attributions were taken over by the Ministry for Regional Development and Housing,” the ministry said.

A government document released on Wednesday pointed to the fact that in 2008 the monthly average wage per individual at the Development Ministry was of RON8,180.
