The ministry’s budget corresponds to 0.64% of the country’s gross domestic product and accounts for 1.81% of the general budget, Blaga said.
Additionally, the ministry has a RON950 million engagement loan.
The ministry’s primary objectives are the planning, territorial development, cross-border, transnational and inter-regional cooperation, land planning, as well as teh building of homes.
The Romanian Government approved Thursday the 2009 budget draft, which will be discussed Monday with the social partners for amendments and will then be sent to the Parliament.
The budget is grounded on a 2.5% economic growth, a deficit target of 2% of the GDP, a 5% inflation rate and a EUR144.7 billion GDP.
