Hundreds of people gathered in front of the sports hall in Szeged, while many others gathered in other several cities Hungary to show their solidarity with the family of the Romanian handball player of Veszprem team, Marian Cozma, who was stabbed in the heart Saturday night.

Szeged is the city of Veszprem’s main opponent in Hungary’s handball championship, but Pick Szeged fans left rivalry aside and paid homage to Cozma, Zarko Sesum and Ivan Pesic.

Sesum and Pesic were wounded in the attacks which led to the death of the Romanian player.

The manifestation was attended by members of the Hungarian Guard, a radical nationalist movement.

Nearly 50 members of a movement associated with the nationalist party Jobbik gathered in Gyor. Jobbik called for the reintroduction of the death penalty, according to the statement sent to MTI.

In Veszprem, people marched with burning candles in the memory of the Romanian.

Player of Romania’s national team and of Hungarian team MKB Veszprem, Marian Cozma was stabbed in the heart Saturday night. Other two players of Veszprem, Serbian Zarko Sesum and Croatian Ivan Pesic, were wounded.
