The survey also shows the grwoth rate of Romanian salaries is the highest in the EU.

The survey was drafted in cooperation with the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, based on November 2008 data.

"Despite of the fact the National Prognosis Commission put forth in January an average salary hike of 5.8% for 2009, our survey advances hikes between 12% and 13%. Experts and the management staff could subsequently expect high salary hikes,” the survey coordinator Maria Smid said.

According to the survey, salaries in Romania were up 13.3% on the year in 2008, while the general income was up 20%.

Kienbaum operates in fields such as head hunting, human resources management and consultancy in management throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
