According to teh minister, introducing the lump sum tax will reduce bureaucracy and fiscal check-ups on companies.

The introduction of such a tax is already stipulated in the revised Convergence Program for the 2008-2011 period, which the Government will send to the European Commission.

Pogea said the Finance Ministry aims to simplify administrative procedures, planning to present a memorandum on regulating para-fiscal taxes at the beginning of next week.

Romania has over 485 para-fiscal taxes, Pogea added.
