The Romanian government decided in a memorandum Wednesday to eliminate 21 authorizations currently required in construction, transport, tourism, winemaking and the energy sector by the end of June.

By end April, the government will pass an emergency decree amending laws that currently regulate the tacit approval procedure and will develop e-governing services for the entire public administration sector.

The government said legal amendments regarding tacit approval and the reduction of the number of required permits are needed to help speed up national measures to mend deficiencies regarding the improvement of the business environment, which the European Commission signaled in 2007 and 2008.
