Romanian Govt To Cut Accommodation Spending For High-Officials – Sources

Romanian government plans to limit accommodation spending for secretaries and undersecretaries of state, as well for heads of public agencies and to stop discounting plane tickets for high-ranking dignitaries, official sources said Sunday.

Spending restrictions could be applied for ministers as well, the mentioned sources said.
 
They said the move is aimed to cut budget spending.
 
The authorities also plan to limit accommodation spending for high-ranking officials to 1,200 lei a month. High-ranking officials will be entitled to two round trips between their residence and the city they work in, by road and rail, while plane tickets will no longer be discounted.
