Clothing Retailer C&A Opens First Store In Romania

The clothing company C&A, part of Swiss-based group Cofra, will open Thursday its first unit in Romania, in Militari Shopping Center from the capital city Bucharest, the company stated Tuesday.

C&A plans to open other stores in Bucharest, as well as in other Romanian cities in 2009.

Last month, C&A representatives in Romania announced that the company would open four units in Bucharest this year, one in Militari Shopping Center, one in Sun Plaza, and another three, in Buzau, Galati and Oradea towns.

On the other hand, the developer of Cotroceni Park shopping mall announced that C&A leased a 3,200 square meters area in the shopping center, which would be the third store in Bucharest.

C&A operates over 1,200 stores in 17 European states and employs over 35,000 people.
