Progoana told MEDIAFAX he is not working on such a draft law: “and such a topic has never been discussed in the democrat liberal Parliament group either,” he added.

Romanian magazine Q Magazine reported Thursday that democrat liberal deputy Silviu Prigoana is preparing a draft act to disband the National Anticorruption Department (DNA).

“I believe this institution should not have been founded, it has no merits, as all citizens, regardless of their actions, are equal in law’s eyes and they all must be investigated by the same bodies, without discrimination. Therefore, I will prepare in the upcoming future a legal initiative to disband this Department and transfer its prosecutors to the General Prosecutors’ Office,” Prigoana told Q Magazine.

Prigoana said several MPs of the Social Democratic Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and of the National Liberal Party expressed their support on the matter.
