Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc sent a letter to his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi, conveying the government’s support and sympathy for the tragic losses suffered in the powerful earthquake in central Italy early Monday.

“The government expresses its sympathy to the victims of the earthquake in Italy and conveys sincere condolences to the mourning families (…). In addition, the government shows complete willingness to offer aid to Italian authorities, if needed,” the Romanian executive said in a statement Monday.
 
A powerful earthquake in central Italy left at least 100 people dead, while other 1,500 were injured, according to latest data.
 
Another 50,000 other Italians remained isolated in the region of Abruzzo.
