The court’s decision to keep Becali and the other four in custody is final.  
 
One of Becali’s lawyers, Aurelian Pavelescu, said he would notify the  European Court of Human Rights of judges’ abusive decision to arrest Becali. 
 
Becali, chairman and financer of Steaua Bucharest football club, was arrested  for 29 days on Friday, April 3, along four of his bodyguards for kidnapping  three alleged car thieves. Becali was placed into custody along Catalin  Zmarandescu, Stefan Dediu, Nicolae Dumitrascu and Dumitru Beciu. 
 
A fifth defendant in the case, Marius Petrinel Geavela, will be investigated  at large and is banned from leaving the country.
