Financial Times reported Monday that according to the International Monetary Fund, “crisis-hit European Union states in central and eastern Europe should consider scrapping their currencies in favor of the euro even without formally joining the euro-zone”.
"The sooner Romania joins the euro-zone, the better it is for everybody, for Romanians, as well as for the economy," Boc said.
Boc added that the country should target euro adoption no later than 2014, even sooner if possible.
