Some of the people said they were threatened and forced to get on the buses. Sources with the local road police confirmed that numerous vehicles were heading for Chisinau Thursday night.

"Although there were rumors that the buses would be pulled over by police and wouldn’t be allowed to get to Chisinau, no vehicle was stopped without good reason,’ a road police official said.

Moldovan police said it would take all necessary measure to ensure public order as new protests have been announced for Friday against what Moldovan youths and political opposition say was a rigged general election.

"We again call on parents and teachers not to allow minors to attend the protests because they are very exposed and easy to manipulate,” said Ala Meleca, spokesperson for the Moldovan interior minister.
