Romanian Football Corruption Suspect Marcel Lica Requests Release On Bail

Lawyers of self-suspended vice-president of the Romanian Central Commission of Referees, Marcel Lica, on Thursday submitted to the Arges Court a request for Lica's release on bail, who in custody for 29 days on charges of corruption.

Arges Court spokesperson, Aneta Duta, said the request for Lica’s release on bail would be tried Friday at the Arges Court, starting 9:00.
 
On April 30, the Arges Court admitted Lica’s request for release under judicial control, but the Pitesti Court of Appeals subsequently admitted prosecutors’ appeal in this respect and Lica was remanded into custody.
 
Referees Savaniu and Sorin Corpodean and Lica were placed under 29-day preventive arrest on April 23 on charges of bribe taking.
