President Traian Basescu sent a letter Tuesday to Senate chairman Mircea Geoana, accusing him of trying to avoid responsibility for blocking corruption files in Parliament and delaying the adoption of legal codes.

The president of the Parliamentary sub-commission working on the Civil Code, Democrat-Liberal Daniel Buda, said Tuesday that the manner of adoption for the Criminal and Civil Codes, through the Government’s adoption of responsibility or legislative procedure, will be established by a political decision in the coalition.

Social democrat deputy Viorel Hrebenciuc said his party agrees with this plan.
