Spanu said the information was published in the latest issue of military magazine “Observatorul military” and made known to employees.

Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2009, regarding the budget revision for the year 2009, amended, reduced the budget of the Defense Ministry by 696.424 million lei (EUR1=RON4.1574).

Major-General Constantin Nastase, the head of the financial department of the Ministry, announced the measure in the magazine. According to Nastase, because staff expenses have been cut by RON196.44 million, the radiation and confidentiality bonuses for personnel working in conditions which entitle them to these bonuses will be temporarily postponed.

The financial department will monitor the necessary amounts monthly, until the budget permits these expenses on staff.
