At the end of April, Dacia said it would up its output as of Jun 15 to 1,340 cars per day from the current 1,200, to cover increased demand both on the local market and for exports.

Also starting mid-June, Dacia will hire 500 people to cope with a more alert production process.

In October, November and December 2008, as well as in January 2009, Dacia halted production for nearly one month, on lower market demand.

In 2008, Dacia produced 242,415 units, up 8.8% on the year. Car models Logan MCV (break) and Logan Sedan accounted for 70% of total sales, followed by Sandero, its newest car model.
