Romania Confirms Two New Cases Of AH1N1 Flu

Romania has confirmed two new cases of AH1N1 flu in two women, who are currently being treated at the infectious diseases hospital ‘Matei Bals’ in capital city Bucharest, the Ministry of Health said Monday morning.

Romania’s Cantacuzino Institute, empowered by the World Health Organization (WHO) to confirm potential infections with the new A H1N1 flu virus both nationally and for nine other states in the region, notified the Health Ministry that a 28 year-old woman, who recently returned from New York, and her 56 year-old mother, carry the virus.

The ministry added the patients are in good health and are receiving anti-viral medication.

Over the past 24 hours, Europe has confirmed 32 new AH1N1 flu cases, bring the total to 557 cases.
