"The strain has not been isolated. A proposal of the World Health Organization was to have the strain isolated around May 20. Unfortunately, the virus is evolving and hasn’t even been isolated in the United States. There is a chance the strain will be isolated around the end of June. From then on, it takes about three months to produce the first tranche of vaccine, so could have this vaccine in September – October if the virus is isolated,” Bazac said.

He added Romania received nearly one thousand tests for the new influenza virus.

Romania confirmed a ninth swine flu case Friday.
