Some 6,700 Romanians Voted Abroad For EP Elections By GMT 1200 – Foreign Min

About 6,700 Romanian citizens voted by GMT 1200 in the European Parliament elections at polling stations set up abroad, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release, adding polls closed in Australia at GMT 1100.

Most Romanians casting ballots abroad were in the Moldovan capital Chisinau, Budapest (Hungary), Rome and Turin (Italy) and Castellon De La Plana (Spain).

The three polling stations in Australia – Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne, closed at GMT 1100.

Polls opened at GMT 1200 in Bogota, Mexico City, Lima, Dallas, Houston, Larose, Chicago, and the station in Phoenix opened at GMT 1300.

No incidents were reported at polling stations set up abroad, the Foreign Ministry also said.
