The survey, conducted online by JD Power, polled 16,200 owners who have had the same car make for at least two years. The survey included 27 makes with 113 car models.
The top rated carmaker is Daihatsu (843 points out of 1,000 possible), followed by Alfa Romeo (835 points) and Mercedes-Benz (835 points). BMW ranked fourth with 834 points and Audi came in fifth.
The top ten is completed by Toyota, Mazda, Mini, Skoda and Honda. Volvo and Mitsubishi ranked 11th and 12th, followed by Dacia on the 13th spot.
With 810 points, four points less than the general average, Dacia scored the same as Volkswagen, but overtook brands such as Suzuki, Nissan, Seat, Renault, Citroen, Hyundai, Ford, Kia and Opel.
The last four sports were filled by Peugeot, Fiat, Chevrolet and smart.
