Two New AH1N1 Virus Cases In Romania, Toll Reaches 53

Two new cases of AH1N1 virus infection were discovered in the Romanian infectious disease monitoring network, namely two children aged eight and respectively 15, which brings the infection toll to 53 in Romania, said the Ministry of Health.

The eight-year old child is the son of the Mehedinti patient for whom the Cantacuzino Institute confirmed the infection. The boy was committed to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Craiova.
 
The other child is in Timisoara and returned from the USA on July 6. At the moment, the 15-year old boy is committed to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Timisoara.
 
Both patients are undergoing treatment and are in good shape. Health authorities have initiated epidemiologic investigations to track the contacts of the two children.
