According to Axinia, travelers will enjoy trains with compact sleepers and wagon-restaurants that will link large cities in Romania, namely, western city of Timisoara with capital city Bucharest, southeastern city of Constanta on the Black Sea coast with northeastern city of Iasi, and then, Iasi with northwestern city of Cluj.
Axinia said passengers will reach their destination faster, as trains will stop over in fewer stations, adding the project meant to set up the new company and related laws, as well as to draft a government decision in this respect, is underway.
Furthermore, he said the ministry also plans to improve the relation between passenger railway company CFR Calatori and passengers, mainly when trains are late, which, he said, is mainly due to scarce investments in railroad infrastructure.
