Official sources said Tuesday that Boc wants to meet with the IMF officials Wednesday evening, after the weekly meeting of the government, for talks on the country’s economic situation and anti-crisis measures.
"Romanian Prime Minister invited the IMF delegation at the Government headquarters Wednesday evening for talks that will bring together all ministers. We hope the government’s weekly meeting will not take too long, to allow time for discussions with the IMF officials," the official sources said Tuesday.
The IMF delegation arrived in Bucharest on July 28 for the first evaluation of the stand-by loan agreement and talks will end on August 10.
Romania agreed with the IMF a EUR12.95 billion stand-by loan, as part of a EUR19.95 billion financial rescue package that also includes funds from the European Commission and other international institutions.
