Romanian Government To Set Up The Final Form Of The Unitary Wage Draft Law

The gross minimum wage will rise to RON764 in 2011, RON845 in 2012 and RON934 in 2013, up RON1.016 in 2014.

In 2015, the year the Government should finish implementing the unitary wage law, the minimum wage should rise to RON1,100, according to the data presented Tuesday by the Government.

Last autumn, the officials of the Government, the representatives of the unionists and of the employers signed an agreement according to which, by 2014 the minimum wage will be worth 50% of the average wage.

The unitary wage law will regulate the wages of the employees working in the public sector, labor minister Marian Sarbu said. Sarbu added the wage rise will take into account the macroeconomic context and the evolution of the social indicators.

The representatives of the Executive, of the unionists and the employers will discuss Tuesday on the final form of the unitary wage draft law.
