Romanians Constantin Buturuga and Florin Drehluta, part of a Romanian battalion that started its mission in Afghanistan in July this year, have leg injuries, but their state of health is good, the Defense Ministry said.
The injured received medical care at the military base in Qalat, southern Afghanistan, and flown by helicopter to Kandahar for further medical tests and treatment.
The two soldiers injured were the target of an insurgent attack with grenade throwers and portable infantry weapons.
Romania currently has about 1,050 troops in Afghanistan, mostly in Zabul province.
