„The National Center for Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases announced the first AH1N1 virus infection in a school unit in Romania. The National Cantacuzino Institute confirmed the student’s analysis,” the Health Ministry said in a statement.
The student was quarantined and doctors began an epidemiologic investigation among her entourage. Her colleagues will remain under medical watch and their classes are suspended for seven days.
The current legislation states that the school units where three cases of AH1N1 infections are reported will have their activity suspended for seven days.
Romania will start the vaccination campaign against the virus in December, and the first that will be part of the process are school children, medical staff, staff in essential sectors and pregnant women.
The Health Ministry on Monday reported 326 cases of AH1N1 infections in the country so far.
