The Chamber of Deputies adopted the report with 189 votes in favor, none against and eight abstentions.

The report does not require the criminal investigation of the social democrat Environment Minister Nicolae Nemirschi, but calls on the Court of Accounts, the Finance Ministry, the public procurement regulator, the competition authority, the Financial Guard and the Office for the Prevention of Money Laundering to look into the legitimacy of a EUR500,000 public contract assigned by the Environment Ministry for a EU-funded environmental project.

The minister did not wish to speak during the debates on the inquiry committee’s report.
