Romanian Parliament To Set Up Commission Analyzing Justice Crisis

The two chambers of Romania’s Parliament unanimously adopted on Thursday a decision to set up a commission that will analyze the crisis in the justice sector and social democrat lawmaker Florin Iordache will preside over the commission.

Both government and opposition parties agreed on establishing a parliament commission meant to analyze the crisis that affects the good functioning of the justice sector.

Democrat liberal Mircea Toader said the commission must find solutions to avoid such situations in the future, while social democrat Aura Vasile said the new commission might solve important social problems.

According to the decision adopted by the Parliament, the commission meant to analyze the problems affecting the justice sector is made up of 15 lawmakers and Florin Iordache was assigned president of the commission.
