„I would suggest the idea of analyzing the adequacy of a national union government. This is the only solution for you to stop pointing fingers at each other,” Basescu told the party leaders present.
The head of state added that „any party who is left out of government will consider that the others are defrauding the elections.”
„I have heard every political leader say the word fraud,” Basescu said.
„Aside from the fact that I would consider it exaggerated to suspect the Ministry of Interior, which ahs never before been suspected of meddling in the elections. I find it exaggerated, but if this is how you feel, then you should all join the government. Take responsibility for the crisis as well, and for the correct unfolding of the elections,” the president said.
„And let’s be honest here: are you so ashamed of the political parties that you would push the government to technocrats manipulated from behind? I think we should distance ourselves from this shame of political parties. This is who we are,” Basescu added.
