The Senate’s committee for labor, family and social security voted in favor of the legislative proposition amending the Tax Code, which was initiated by social democrat senator Cristian Apostolache.

According to the legislative proposition, people with severe or accentuated disability will be exempt from paying income tax on their pension.

The committee pointed out that the current law only exempts people with severe or accentuated handicap from paying income taxes on salary rights.

The draft, which received votes in favor from all parliamentary groups, is pending debates in the Chamber of Deputies.
