Basescu said it is likely another consultation with political parties will follow to present possible solutions after parties presented their prime minister propositions.
„I will analyze tomorrow the results of our talks and it is likely we convene again to present solutions,” Basescu said.
Basescu said he rejects the idea to postpone the designation of a prime minister until after presidential elections as the country is mired in a deep recession and is struggling to cope with the rapid spread of the AH1N1 flu virus.
Basescu met Thursday with democrat liberals, liberals, social democrats and conservatives, the Hungarian minority party, the minorities’ Parliament group and the independents’ group in Parliament to talk on a new prime minister, after Prime Minister-designate Lucian Croitoru lost a confidence vote in Parliament.
