Antonescu said only ministers and secretary of state should be appointed on political criteria, adding „a democrat liberal prime minister can very well rule irrespective of the school principals’ political color”.

Basescu said he publically criticized the Government Emergency Ordinance that allowed politicization of the state apparatus, adding the education law adopted by the Government led by Prime Minister Emil Boc stipulates school principals should not be members in political parties.

Basescu added liberals challenged the law at the Constitutional Court and were against the very article forbidding school principals to be members in political parties.

Antonescu said he considers school principals should not be appointed on political criteria, but be permitted political options, adding liberals rejected the education law as they did not agree with several other issues.
