Debts Of Romanian Insolvent Cos Up 7% To RON458M In Feb

The debts of Romanian companies undergoing dissolution to local banks rose 7% on the month in February, to 458 million lei (EUR1=RON4.0967), even though their number has slightly decreased, central bank data showed Tuesday.

The companies’ remained payments towards lenders also increased by 7% on the month in February, at RON353 million, the central bank’s lending risks division CRB said.

The number of legal entities facing liquidation procedures fell to 431 in February, from 448 companies a month before.

In January, the debts of companies undergoing dissolution stood at RON330 million.

The debts of the companies undergoing reorganization procedures rose 12% in February, at RON225 million, from RON201 million in January, as their number saw a slight increase, from 122 to 130 firms.
