Corman’s statement was confirmed by Attila Korodi, president of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies’ Commission for Foreign Policy.

According to Corman, the two country’s Foreign Affairs Ministries are working on the document that will regulate border aspects and will ensure mutual support regarding border issues.

The Moldovan official said Romania also signed a similar treaty with Ukraine.

Korodi said the treaty will be forwarded to the two country’s Parliaments for adoption when it is completed.

Korodi added he is confident the Republic of Moldova will also regulate border issues with Ukraine.

The Romanian official said Romania is holding negotiations with the European Union to eliminate the EUR500 tax Moldovan citizens have to pay to get a visa for Romania and replace it with an affidavit.

Korodi added Romanian authorities are looking into ways to simplify visa procedures for Moldovan citizens.

Korodi and a delegation of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies’ Commission for Foreign Policy will be on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova between April 7 and April 9.
