Also Thursday, high school seniors are supposed to take a national computer test, part of their high school graduation exam. However, as not all teachers are on strike, some students will take the test.

Education Ministry spokeswoman Melania Vergu said Thursday morning about 4,900 high school students out of 31,000 won’t take the test because of the teachers’ strike.

Education unionists have threatened to go on full-blown strike indefinitely as of end-May if their problems aren’t solved, boycotting national exams scheduled for early summer.

Unionists are set to meet with the education minister again for negotiations Friday and discuss bonuses they lose under the country’s new public sector unitary wage law.
