Romanian May Forex Reserves Fall To EUR32B

End-April, hard currency reserves hit a record high of EUR32.386 billion.

The central bank said foreign exchange inflows stood at EUR1.67 billion in May, while outflows totaled EUR2.07 billion.

The central bank’s gold holdings were flat on the month at 103.7 metric tons in May, but their valued adjusted for international gold price rose to EUR3.26 billion from EUR2.94 billion a month earlier.

Thus, Romania’s overall international reserves fell slightly to EUR35.25 billion in May, from EUR35.33 billion the month before.

The payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt in June amount to EUR161.8 million, according to the central bank.
