British Court Sentences Romanian Pimp To 10 Yr Jail Term

Cezar Murariu, 28, became friends with 18-year-old Natalya last summer, in northern Romania. He promised her a job in London and bought her a ticket to the UK.

When they arrived in the UK, Murariu took the girl, who was a virgin at the time, to a flat in Hendon Way, Cricklewood, where he raped her and then took her to another flat and forced her to work as a prostitute.

She was forced to sleep with up to five men a day, for GBP40 a time. Murariu threatened the girl that, unless she did what she was told, he would tell her family she was „uncontrollable” and voluntarily working as a prostitute.

The girl, however, managed to send a text message to her family telling them she was in trouble and they contacted the human trafficking unit within the London police service.

On July 31, 2009, police officers surrounded a park where Natalya was forced to exercise to stay in shape and took her to safety. Police officers found several missed calls on her phone from Murariu, who was apprehended in the vicinity of the park, while he was frantically searching for the girl.

Murariu was found guilty of rape and two pimping counts and sentenced to ten years in prison.
