Romania’s AVAS Eyes RON261M From Privatization Deals In 2010

Romanian privatization authority AVAS estimates total revenue of 395 million lei (EUR1=RON4.2488) in 2010, of which nearly RON261 million are expected from privatization deals, according to the authority’s revenue and expenditure budget.

Last year, AVAS reported total revenue of RON152.8 million. Of that, RON21.9 million came from privations.

In the January 1 – April 16 period, AVAS registered revenues of RON94.9 million. The authority cashed in RON27.7 million from privatization deals, while RON54.2 million represented dividends.

Mid-April, AVAS president Aurelian Popa said the authority wants to sell its majority stakes in 13 companies and the minority stakes held in 90 other companies in 2010.
