Romanian Hydrologists Extend Flood Alert For Rivers Across Country

The rivers under yellow code advisory are the Tisa, Somersul Mic, Bistrita, Lapus, Barscau, Crisul Repede, Crisul Alb, Bistrita, Aries, Gurghiu, Niraj, Tarnava Mare, Tarnava Mica, Olt, Buzau, Ramnicu Sarat, Putna, Trotus, Bistrita, Moldova, Suceava, Barlad, Bahlui, Sitna and Jijia rivers and most of their tributaries.

The flood alert for the Prut river, eastern Romania, is valid until the end of July.

Hydrologists Monday evening issued a yellow code flood warning for rivers in the counties of Maramures, Cluj, Bistriţa-Nsssud, Salaj, Bihor, Arad, Hunedoara, Alba, Mures, Sibiu, Gorj, Mehedinti, Covasna, Harghita, Brasov, Valcea, Arges, Olt, Dambovita, Prahova and Buzau, valid until Tuesday evening.
