He said an act amending the emergency ordinance and its application norms was discussed in the Government’s meeting Wednesday and will be adopted next week.
Borbely, executive vice-president of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania, said Tuesday that his party asked the Government to change the norms concerning the application of Ordinance 58/2010, to lay the responsibility of filing the statements and paying the contributions with the employer, instead of citizens.
According to the minister, the Union’s proposal was accepted in principle and, in Wednesday’s meeting, Prime Minister Emil Boc asked Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu to come up with proposals to amend the norms.
On the other hand, Labor Minister Mihai Seitan said Tuesday that the Ordinance would not be changed and that an online tax payment system will be completed by the end of September.
Romania’s Government approved on August 2 the application norms for recent amendments to the Fiscal Code, which extend the tax pool and introduce social security contributions for income gained from copyright.
