Romanian 2Q ‘10 Finalized Dwellings Dn By 2,217 To 10,689 Units

The number of residential constructions finalized in the second quarter of 2010 declined by 2,217 units compared with the same interval a year earlier, to 10,689 units, the National Statistical Institute, or INS, said Thursday.

In the first half of the year, there were 18,674 dwellings delivered, down 4827 on the year.

Dwellings finalized in the urban area represented 51.7% of the total residential constructions in April-June 2010, while in the first half of the year, dwelling delivered in urban areas represented 53% of the total.

In the intervals analyzed, most of constructions were financed from private funds. Thus, in the second quarter of the year 91.2% of dwellings, or 9,749, were financed this way, while the percentage reaches 93.3% in the first half of the year, or 17,419.
