EXCLUSIVE: Romanian Interior Ministry’s Expenses May Decrease To 1.17% Of GDP In ‘13

The Romanian Interior Ministry’s total expenditure might decrease to 1.17% of the gross domestic product in 2013, from 1.7% of GDP in 2010, according to estimates in the country’s three-year fiscal strategy approved by the Government Wednesday.

The strategy estimates the Interior Ministry’s expenses will reach 8,710 million lei (EUR1=RON4.2394) in 2010, RON7,745 million in 2011 (1.42% of GDP), RON7,406 million in 2012 (1.24% of GDP) and RON7,742 million in 2013 (1.17%).

Considering that starting 2011 pensions will be paid from the social insurance budget, the ministry’s social assistance expenses will reach RON126 million in 2011, RON129 million in 2012 and RON125 million in 2013, from RON1,561 million in 2010.
