Romanian Pupils Win Gold, Two Silver In Balkan Olympiad In Informatics

Romania's national team won one gold and two silver medals at the 18th edition of the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, held between October 31 and November 7 in Montenegro, the Education Ministry said on Monday.

The gold medal was won by Andrei Purice, of the „I.L. Caragiale” National College in Ploiesti, while the silver was won by Alexandru Tache, of the „Tudor Vianu” Informatics National College, and Cezar Mocan, of the International Informatics High School, both in Bucharest.

According to the ministry, the team also included Bogdan Andrei Parvu, of the „Tudor Vianu” National College.

More than 40 pupils from 10 countries took part in this year’s edition of the olympiad.
