Registrations Of New Renault, Dacia Cars In Germany Down 32.6% In November

Registrations of new Renault and Dacia cars in Germany fell 32.6%, to 12,717 units, in November 2010, while the market on the whole declined 6.2%, to 262,202 units.

Of the 32 carmakers under survey, 19 saw a positive trend, according to data from Germany’s motor vehicle department KBA.

French Group Renault, owner of Romanian Automobile Dacia, reported a 4.8% market share in November, compared with 5.6% in October and 4.3% in September.

In the first 11 months of the year, 141,314 new Renault and Dacia cars were registered in Romania, down 34.4% compared to the similar interval in 2009. The market declined 25.2% during this period.

In the January-November interval, only Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar and BMW reported an increased number of registrations. Volkswagen retained its lead (21.3% market share), followed by Mercedes (9.8%), BMW-Mini (9.1%), Opel (7.8%) and Ford (6.9%).

In 2009, Germany became the main export market of Romanian Dacia cars, with 84,708 units sold, up 231.3% from 2008, due to the cash for clunkers program conducted by the German Government.
